Arabic as a Foreign Language Program (AFL): Eligibility

To Enroll in the Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages, follow these procedures:
Students of the First Category: Students who have received a scholarship from their home country, whether they are graduate or undergraduate, to study Arabic. This is based on an agreement between their home university and Yarmouk University. Generally, this includes students under various agreements.
  1. Students are received by their representative and informed about the steps to enroll in the center and get an acceptance notice. They are also directed to complete the residency procedures and the medical examination.
  2. The student fills out the registration form to take a placement test in preparation for joining the Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  3. The student takes the placement test to determine their level of competency according to nine levels in the Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  4. The student consults the Registration Department office (110) to complete the enrollment procedures and obtain their ID number, bringing their passports with them.
  5. The student visits office 110 in the building of Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages to follow up on the registration process, enroll in classes, and receive the registration document that shows the registration fees to be paid.
  6. The student pays the fees at the Finance Department bringing with them the registration document. They also receive the student proof identification.
  7. The student gives the receipt of their payment to office 110 at the building of Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  8. The student is informed of their assigned level as well as the date and time of their classes.

Students of the Second Category: Students who have obtained a university degree such as a bachelor’s and higher, or those enrolled in academic institutions.
Students of the Third Category: Students who are neither within the first category nor the second category, they can be students at schools or others.
  1. The student contacts the language center at Languages.cen@yu.edu.jo to apply for the Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  2. The student receives the admission letter by email.
  3. The student fills out the registration form to take a placement test in preparation for joining the Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  4. The student visits office 108 in the building of Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages to fill out the application form, bringing their passport with them.
  5. The student visits office 103 in the Registration Department to get their ID numbers and identification cards.
  6. The student visits office 108 in the building of Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages bringing with them their ID numbers to enroll in classes and receive the registration document that shows the registration fees to be paid.
  7. The student pays the fees at the Finance Department bringing with them the registration document. They also receive the student proof identification.
  8. The student gives the receipt of their payment to office 108 at the building of Arabic Language Program for Speakers of Other Languages.
  9. The student is informed of their assigned level as well as the date and time of their classes.
  10. The student visits Mr. Saed al-Azzam’s office in the Deanship of Students Affairs to complete their residency procedures.
